Who or What Inspired You to Become an Entrepreneur?


What inspired me to become an entrepreneur was when I had a heart attack in 2009.  That experience made me realize that tomorrow is not promised but thank God it was promised to me, and since it was, I was going to pursue any and everything I ever imagined.  


The 3 things that I pursued after having a heart attack were taekwondo, learning to ride a motorcycle, and my desire to be in business full-time. 


As far as taekwondo, I received my yellow belt and decided that wasn?t for me.  Took a motorcycle class and decided I was a better fit to be a sexy accessory on the back of my husband?s Harley Davison. 


Now, as far as my desire to be in business, full-time has remained part of my story.  I was a Parallel-preneur for 3 years before I took a leap of faith into full-time entrepreneurship. I am passionate about preparing Parallel-preneurs for full-time entrepreneurship by ensuring they get clear on whom they serve and how they serve them, get confident in their sales skills, get cash in their business consistently so that God gets the glory! What Advice Would You Give to Women Starting their online business?


Keep God First!  Know it will take longer than you think. Last but not least, start with a good foundation. Meaning getting clear on whom you serve and how you serve them (i.e., private or group coaching, digital products, etc.) and where to find them. Next, get confident in your sales skills (i.e., sales copy, sales calls) and overcome objections.  If you are not confident with your selling skills, reach out to me at bit.ly/bookwithnef (select discovery session), and I will have you selling in no time and in a way that doesn?t seem sleazy, slimy, or gross. This way, you can get cash consistently.



What Is Your Why and How Important Is it in Business?


My ?WHY? for choosing entrepreneurship is that I knew the sky?s the limit when it comes to your income and influence. With influence and income, you could impact real change not just for yourself but also for others.  My ?WHY is important to me because I know my wealth will answer prayers.  So, when I get tired, I remember that I am called, and giving up impacts not only me but also everyone I am meant to serve.



What Lessons Did You Learn in the Beginning Stages of Starting your Business, and has it helped you today?


Lesson number 1: Do not follow multiple coaches at one time; it only leads to confusion and indecision.  This lesson has helped me focus on what I am learning from the coach I have hired and helps me to make quicker decisions. Due to the fact I do not hear in one ear go live every day and in the other ear attend networking events weekly. 


Lesson number 2:  Decide on how you want to run and build your business before hiring a coach.  If you do not, you will hire a coach to determine later that you don?t want to be on social media 24/7 or build a membership.  This lesson has helped me to be selective in hiring coaches. Plus, being specific with what I need and how I desire to run my business to ensure that the coach can deliver or/and is running her business the way I want to do it before hiring.  


Lesson 3: That you have to ask for the sale. This lesson has helped me understand that you just can?t put our perfectly curated content, a beautiful flashy website, or send a well-thought-out email and expect your leads to buy. You have to ask them.



What Do You Want People to Remember About You?


I want people to remember that no matter what I was facing, I kept the faith, and I didn?t let what I was going through steal my joy.  We all will have tests and trials but how we go through them makes all the difference. Will you be the Christian that complains and says, why me, Lord or will you be the Christian that says, ok, Lord, we got this how do you want me to bring you glory with this one.
